Long Time No Post?

Yup not proud to say so but I haven't posted in a long time. Sorry! I've not been following my goal of one post per day. Well anyhow here goes the over view of the past few days for me. I just resently started to really work on advanced flat work. I discussed with my trainer this as I want to be a really good equitation rider. It's been a challenge for me and I'm definitely more sore then I have ever been. It's very frustrating for me, not being able to do advanced flat work perfectly but as the guy from a clinic I went to once said... "on a good day you might be able to control 70% of yourself and 50% of your horse." so I'm living by that right now and I think right now that I have around 50% control of myself and 20% control of my horses. I'm getting there though. Slowly but surely. Well that's it for now.

Outdoor Ring

I rode both Shania and Rose in our outdoor ring for the first time today! I was so excited, the thing that confused me though was that I kept on hearing these children and they where like "Whoa look at that one." and "Oh, that one just stopped!" We had a very scary fake log lined jump that Dandy didn't want to jump. The thing that confused me was that I couldn't see the children, I heard them but I looked every where and they were no where in site. Since our outdoor ring is on the far right of our property I guess it was the neighbors kids because only my sister and I ride at our barn. Scary stuff, now I understand how horses feel sometimes. Well any who, Shania was pretty good we kept on missing the spot on the diagonal vertical of the red birch line the oxer was no problem though. I think it had to do with how the line was more of a bending line and I was more focused on the second jump of the line. Rose was fabulous but all four lines rode up long. Afterwards I took Elliot out to graze and I heard the children again.... I think I might be a tad bit looney or we have intruders on our property *raises eye brows in suspicious manor*

Nothing Today

I didn't do anything worthy of an entry today. I think I might be coming down with a minor cold though. I did my pilates and yoga session already. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right though, I might want to consider enrolling in a pilates or yoga class on Fridays and Wednesdays (the days I have off from horseback riding). Not to sure if my mom would let me, she's lazy like that, if it doesn't benefit her we don't do it. I watched E's Girls Next Door, and found out Kendra's laugh makes my eye twitch (a sign that it bothers me) and that Holly seems like the smart one.

Today

As you may know I went out to the barn today to ride Moon. When I arrived at the barn she had pulled off her shoe and our fierier said he wouldn't be out until Tuesday. Instead I rode Kisses a horse my sister usually rides (but I'm slowly taking him over). He was really lazy and would barely even canter for me. I had my leg on him the whole time and I swear it felt like I was riding a morbidly obese pony as he wouldn't open up his stride to his normal horse stride. After I rode Kisses I went out to Elliot and E.T.'s pasture to play with them. It was so adorable because I went out there with two candy canes for them and as soon as the heard the raper untwisting they both cantered (well more like galloped) over. Even more adorable was Elliot trying to eat the candy cane through his grazing mask. It was hard to feed it to him since he had his grazing mask on.

Tomorrow

I'm very excited about tomorrow as my horses got there hocks injected on Thursday so I haven't ridden since Wednesday. I'm missing being able to ride. It's strange though as even though I didn't ride I lost five pounds without changing my daily food intake to account for the lack there of that physical activity. Strange. Well tomorrow I'll be riding Moon, one of my sisters horses, a jumper! Yikes! Well the only thing scary about riding Moon is that she bucks and rears a ton, but only after jumping so I think I'll stick to flatting her. I'm also excited as our outdoor ring is now finished and our indoor will be finished in less then nine days! I'll be sure to post how riding Moon was, my sister says she's fun but lazy so I might be soar. Well it's getting late I'll post more tomorrow! Remember to leave comments! I'll be sure to reply.

School

So I went home early from school today. I told the nurse I was feeling nauseous and dizzy (the two symptoms that they always send you home on). I did feel nauseous and dizzy but it was more because of what was going on at school, not an illness. Well the eleventh grade were dissecting cats today and everyone was crowded around the lab room doors watching and laughing. I was disgusted and appalled by this; those poor cats! I mean who are we to laugh at the pain they had to have gone through before there deaths? It was nothing to laugh at in my opinion so I started to sob silently; I've mastered the art of quite sobbing quite well so no one noticed in class besides Caroline; one of my friends. Straight after our physics teacher had taught us our lesson and given us our homework I left class (there was 15 minutes left before English). So then I went to the nurse and waited until my mom came to pick me up. She was horrified as the last biology class had started to carry out there dissected cats to the dump and everyone was smiling and laughing. I think she understood why I had to leave school.

Lesson One

Today I rode both Shania and Rose. I warmed up Shania first and she seemed anxious. I think she was anxious because the workmen are still building our hot walker and our grass ring is directly next to it. Shania's very noise sensitive so I think the noise distracted her. I worked for ten minutes on my leg position at the sitting and posting trot without stirrups to strengthen my inner leg. Since Shania felt anxious I picked up my stirrups when we started to canter although I couldn't fully calm Shania down we still found good spots to the gymnastics line.
Rose was very lazy today and we broke from the canter five times unintensionally. Besides this minor error our lesson was good. To the gymnastics line we tended to drift to the right, but the last few times through the line we fixed that and I felt like I had more control. Overall I would say that my lessons themselves were average, but I learned a lot from my mistakes.
